Six pounds down and a lot to go
I think I worried a lot of people when I talked about my all-tuna diet. Never fear! Even though I lived on tuna for about six months in 2000, I've realized that all tuna, all the time, is just not an appealing option. So I've been mixing it up with salads, too.
The result? The scale never lies. I've lost six pounds so far. I'm at 274. This means it's time to get serious. Now that fall is here, a morning walk is going to become part of my routine. It was hard to get excited about the morning walk when the height of the summer height was here.

So far, so good
I had a lot of luck on my all-tuna, all-the-time diet in 2001, so I'm back on it. Perhaps I'm alone in this (my friends insist that I am) in my ability to subsist on tuna for long periods of time.
Here's the basic drill - tuna salad for lunch. Tuna sandwich (and cold peas) for dinner. Breakfast is a single piece of wheat toast to jump start the metabolism.
As I did in 2001, I have bid a sad farewell to my friends cheese and Coca-Cola. I don't care what anyone says - I love Coke (the soda, not the narcotic). People who make Coca-Cola are doing God's work and I am sorry to say I'm no longer going to be a customer.
But, nothing worthwhile comes easy. I've got to buy a new scale tonight and will hope that it gives me nothing but good news in the coming days, weeks and months.
To a healthier, kinder self!
